Let’s get this out of the way the answer to my title question: Thriving. (Sorry I’m working on testing clickbait titles.) UPDATE: It’s working.

It’s been a couple weeks since I last updated my life to the internet and I think it’s time to do that again. Prepare yourself I have a lot to cover in such a short amount of time.

First some of the events and activities I’ve been able to take in.

Recently I grabbed my trusty backpack and explored a bunch of different places in and around SF!

Golden Gate Bridge

The Bridge! 🌉

I was able to find a Saturday morning a couple weekends ago and explore this tourist and biker-filled piece of land. All I can say is…wow. Wearing a sweatshirt when I was out exploring may not have been the layer of choice after I started my trek, but you win some, you lose some. Seeing this massive structure built and maintained so meticulously was truly an amazing sight to see. After taking in the view from Battery Spencer (A retired gun battery) I went for a little walk down and over to Sausalito. (By little walk I mean I took the wrong turn on a path ended up in Sausalito…)

The Trail that led me astray.

Fisherman’s Wharf

Fisherman’s Wharf ⚓️

This little slice of tourist trap is where I claimed lunch that Saturday after escaping the Sausalito wrong-turn. I was just lucky enough to beat the lunch rush and grabbed some Fish and Chips from the Codmother Fish and Chips, ranked in the top 10 places to eat in San Francisco. While many people know that I don’t love fish, the ginormous, perfectly prepared fillets the Codmother serves up, is definitely a must visit when in SF.

Twin Peaks

As my roommate and I filled our stomachs with delicious brunch from Zazies (I'll show you this amazing brunch a little later!) one Saturday morning we decided to go for a walk.

⛰⛰ (get it, it’s two peaks…)

Click me! 👋

As we passed a ton of beautiful houses we came to a nice little rock ledge that seemed prime for hiking up. Needless to say this type of stumbling upon hiking areas continued until we finally ended up at Twin Peaks. This little slice of mountain made for not only a great hike, but for an amazing view. The coolest thing is watching the fog roll in and over the mountains when the sun begins to set. (I’ll do my hardest to get a quality video or picture of this soon.)

PRIDE Celebrations/Dolores Park

Now it’s a party! 🎉

So this part should start with a disclaimer. It is PRIDE weekend and Dolores park is near The Castro neighborhood and is a prime green space for large-scale events.

PS: Sunblock man is wearing the Rainbow Flag above. ☀️

Like this gathering the Saturday before the PRIDE Parade. This large scale gathering was truly a sight to see. For my friends familiar with music festivals and events where people lay around in the sun all day and do who knows what else, this is the same. It was a ton of fun to take in the sights and people watch. From a man dressed like superman providing suntan lotion to the bumping concert stage there was more than enough events to keep both your eyes and your mind entertained.

City Hall showing it’s PRIDE

From Dolores Park on Saturday to the AirBnB Pre-Parade Breakfast and party there was definitely not a shortage of events and activities to attend and take in. The morning started with my group of friends visiting a Pre-Parade Party with AirBnB.

Bay Area Intern Friends 👋

This music-blaring, photo-taking, food-tasting, memory-making celebration was something I was not expecting for 8:30 in the morning on a Sunday. But nevertheless it was was welcoming. From the Pre-Party we found ourselves enjoying the awesome Parade and all the excitement that comes with that. To get a taste of what the PRIDE Parade is like, check out this video(I wouldn’t watch it all, it’s LONG!)

Opera in the Park

Last night I visited AT&T Ball Park with a couple thousand of my friends for a live viewing of Carmen by the San Francisco Opera. It story was great but the subtitles saved the day as Carmen is French, and the atmosphere and some newly found friends made the experience top-notch. I ran into some fellow Minnesota Natives that made me instantly realize my terminology, especially the use of supper. While the wind reminded me of back home the idea of having thousands of people in a ballpark to watch opera was a little foreign.

Let's see some food/coffee

I promise I’ll share more around food and even some delicious coffee when time allows. But for now I think I brought you back up to speed! As a sending image I’ll share a one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken so far.

Sitting on a rock, thinking, eating fruit snacks, watching the traffic around Golden Gate Bridge. 🙌

Wow! You made it to the end! Even with all the spelling errors and grammar mistakes? Crazy how that works. But truly, I thank you for your time and effort in learning more about me and my take on my experiences. I promise I will do my hardest to post again real soon, but have no fear if I don’t all the food, event, and Austin related happenings can be found through the channels below.
